Brera, Slowly

Brera is the kind of neighbourhood that asks you to slow down. The streets are narrow, the buildings lean into each other, and ivy spills down from balconies as if the whole quarter has decided to grow wild on purpose.

I spent a morning wandering with no map. A bookshop here, a courtyard there, and eventually a tiny bar where the barista poured my espresso without asking what I wanted. He had decided, correctly, what I needed.
